# Liquidation Protection

Our Liquidation Protection automation is solely focused on ensuring your position does not get liquidated. It has a simple, precise setup - When your Safety Ratio falls below the minimum threshold, it will automatically repay enough debt to put the Safety Ratio up by 5%\
\
This is a simple, but effective automation that's useful for keeping any borrow position safe from liquidation - repaying debt only when your position becomes critically close to the liquidation threshold.

Minimum threshold per-protocol:

* Aave v3 - 105%
* Aave v4 - 110%
* Compound v3 - 105%
* Maker - 155%
* Spark - 105%
* Fluid - 119%
* Morpho Blue - 127%

> Automation doesn't require any kind of gas prepayments nor will it use gas from your wallet, as all transactions are executed without needing your input, by Automation bots, while charging the tx fee to your position.
>
> The way Liquidation Protection increases your ratio and makes your position safe is by use of the DeFi Saver Repay feature, which unwinds a specific, limited part of your position, using your debt to clear the debt, which results in an increased safety ratio. (because all of these lending protocols have overcollateralised positions)

Likewise, the gas fees for the automation transaction is charged to the position itself, so the funds in your wallet are in no way required for the automation to trigger.

Setting up Liquidation Protection is quick and simple:
1. You'll be prompted to activate Liquidation Protection on the Aave dashboard itself, or alternatively, you can visit the "Automation" page:

3. Sign the transaction for enabling the automation

That's that. Your position is now safe from getting liquidated, as the automation will keep ensuring it's maintained at a 110% Safety Ratio no matter how many times it falls below 105%
