# DeFi Saver Season 1 Rewards

In this article, we outline all of the information related to DeFi Saver's first ever Rewards campaign.

## What is DeFi Saver Rewards?

It's a two-season campaign built around active usage of perpetual trading and leveraged borrowing strategies.

Across both seasons, a total of **50,000 USDC** will be distributed to top-performing users based on a combination of trading volume and profitability.

* **Season 1:** June 8th – June 21st
* **Season 2:** TBD

Each season features a **25,000 USDC prize pool**, distributed to the top 20 wallets.

## How does scoring work?

Your position on the leaderboard is determined by a scoring system that combines volume with performance-aware multipliers.

**Eligible volume includes:**

* Perpetual trading volume on Hyperliquid
* DeFi Saver value-added DeFi actions: [leveraged create](https://help.defisaver.com/features/leveraged-create-and-close), [boost, repay](https://help.defisaver.com/features/boost-and-repay), [close](https://help.defisaver.com/features/leveraged-create-and-close) (excluding wallet closes), [collateral/debt switching](https://help.defisaver.com/features/collateral-and-debt-switch).

<summary>What does "excluding wallet closes" mean?</summary>

When using the "Close" tool, you are provided with three options:

![](https://help.defisaver.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F2276946674-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252Fo1t7pGS5d15WeQzoQ3Fe%252Fuploads%252FsXc51GVfvocksDbsGDm6%252FScreenshot%25202025-04-23%2520162300.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D569108df-1b70-4298-ab28-2eb8f41730a7\&width=768\&dpr=4\&quality=100\&sign=8738f245\&sv=2)

The "Close (to X)" represents which asset will be withdrawn to your EOA wallet once the position is fully closed.&#x20;

To understand this in more detail, let's look at how the "Close" tool works in the background:

* First, it flash loans the debt asset
* It uses the flash loaned funds to pay back all of the debt
* Now that your collateral is freed up, it's withdrawn
* The collateral is then swapped to the debt asset
* This is used to pay back the flash loan
* The remaining funds are withdrawn to your EOA

Now, if you choose "Close to (collateral asset)", this means that it will only swap enough of your collateral to cover the flash loan, but it will withdraw the rest in the collateral token.

If you choose "Close to (debt asset)", it's going to swap all of your collateral to the debt asset, pay back the flash loan, and the rest will be withdrawn in the debt token.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Using "Close with X from wallet" simply means that funds from your wallet will be used to clear the debt, and the collateral will be withdrawn to your wallet.*
{% endhint %}

**Supported protocols:**

* [Hyperliquid](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/hyperliquid)
* [Aave v3](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/aave-v3) and [v4](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/aave-v4)
* [Spark](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/spark)
* [Morpho](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/morpho)
* [Fluid](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/fluid)
* [Compound V3](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/compound)
* [Liquity V2](https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/liquity-v2)

**Multipliers:**

* Perpetual trading volume gets a positive multiplier if PnL is positive, calculated as 5× the root of total PNL over volume. \
  \
  There are two reasons for this: to level the playing field for smaller portfolio traders, and to prevent wash trading & volume farming.

{% hint style="info" %}
Specifically: `Perpetuals Score = Volume × (1 + 5 × sqrt(PNL / Volume))` \
\
Example 1: For Volume of $10,000 and a PNL of $400, the score would be 10,000 × (1 + 5 × 0.2) = 20,000. \
\
Example 2: For Volume of $10,000 and a PNL of $50, the score would be 10,000 × (1 + 5 × 0.07) = 13,500. \
\
Example 3: For Volume of $10,000 and a PNL of -$400, the score would be 10,000 - *negative PNL is ignored.*
{% endhint %}

* Users that tested DFS Perpetuals early get a **bonus 1.05× multiplier on their perps score**.
* Lending volume executed via Automation gets a **1.25× multiplier**
* Same-class trading volume (stable/stable, ETH/staked ETH, BTC/BTC) gets a **penalty multiplier of 0.1×**

{% hint style="success" %}
*This system rewards profitable and meaningful activity over pure volume farming.*
{% endhint %}

## Rewards Breakdown

Each season distributes **25,000 USDC** to the top 20 participants:

* **1st place:** 7,500 USDC
* **2nd place:** 3,500 USDC
* **3rd place:** 2,000 USDC
* **4th - 10th place:** 1,000 USDC each
* **11th - 20th place:** 500 USDC each

## Why this matters

This campaign marks the first step in unifying DeFi lending and perpetual trading into a single competitive experience.

With Hyperliquid now integrated directly into DeFi Saver, users can:

* Open and manage perpetual positions without leaving the app
* Combine spot, lending, and leveraged strategies in one interface
* Use advanced tools like automation and (soon) real-time Telegram notifications

There is no onboarding friction - simply connect your wallet and start trading.

Users can also fund their perpetual accounts from any supported network using any token, removing the need for manual bridging or USDC-only deposits.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.defisaver.com/protocols/hyperliquid/defi-saver-season-1-rewards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
