Maker DeFi Explore

Maker DeFi Explore is a tool that lets you research Maker CDPs in detail, including the option to simulate a CDP and see how different Automation configurations would perform in different market conditions.

On the home page, you'll find:

  • The total number of vaults and generated DAI debt currently

  • The option to search for a vault based on the owner wallet address or CDP ID

  • A list of all open CDPs, sorted by the amount of DAI debt - users also have the additional option to sort based on the collateral amount and safety ratio.

Clicking on any of the CDPs from this list will open a dashboard in which you'll have more information on the CDP itself:

To start, this page will show you some key info such as:

  • Collateral size (and which vault it is)

  • Debt amount

  • Safety Ratio

  • Value invested

  • Value withdrawn

  • Current CDP balance

  • Lifetime profit

  • Current price

  • Liquidation price

Additionally, you'll be able to view this CDP directly on DeFi Saver by clicking the "Open dashboard" button.

Underneath, you'll find the History section, which will show you a graph of how the CDP's metrics progressed over time, along with indicators of when actions were taken within the CDP:

The History section also includes all of transactions associated with that CDP - and by clicking on any of the actions, users will be taken to the Etherscan page for that transaction, including the option to export it to CSV.

The "Stats" page gives a breakdown of each type of Maker vault - including info on:

  • Their current stability fee

  • Generated DAI debt

  • Number of open vaults

  • DAI debt ceiling

Finally, the "Simulation" tab will take you to the aforementioned CDP simulation tool:

The main use-case of this tool is to see how DeFi Saver's Automation tools would perform during a period of time set by the user.

Aside from a basic setup such as the start/end date, vault type and the amount to leverage - users can adjust additional simulation settings, which include:

  • The Safety ratios at which Repay/Boost automations would trigger

  • The Safety ratios that the automations should get the CDP to upon triggering

  • Average gas price for the period

  • Average price movement based on the Average yearly growth percentage

  • Volatility percentage, which represents how drastically the asset's price changes over time.

On top of that, there's the option to add a 1-week bull or bear run.

Scrolling down just a bit will show us the result of our setup:

Among the most important data from this dashboard is the Automated CDP profit compared to the Holding ETH profit, with Automation difference showing what the net difference is between using DeFi Saver's automations as per the simulation settings - compared to just holding ETH.

Finally, you'll also be able to see all of the automations that would be triggered during your input timeframe:
