Dashboard & UI

In this article, we'll have a look at DeFi Saver's frontend for Aave V4, as well as a full walkthrough of the features.

While the Hub and Market system are the core innovation of V4, not every frontend will display this mechanism the same way. Some apps are asset-first, where the user just picks the collateral/debt assets they're interested in - while others (including DeFi Saver) opted to provide users control over which Market they'd like to choose, along with being able to pick assets they're interested in.

With that in mind, let's dive into DeFi Saver's Aave V4 dashboard:

The first thing to note is that Aave V4 exists separately on the left-hand sidebar, so you would need to access it from there (and not the Aave V3 dashboard).

Once you open the Aave V4 dashboard, you'll land on the "Create" page:

The first thing(s) you might notice are the selectable Markets and the Collateral/Debt filters, along with options to filter Markets/assets by specific strategies (i.e. Long ETH/BTC and Yield Farming Stables)

Selecting a collateral and debt asset pair (or just the collateral/debt asset) will reflect on the Markets that are available to you. If your intended position is not available in a specific Market, it will be fully greyed out - while available Markets will show you the number of assets that remain for you to select:

Clicking on the Market will expand the window to show you all of the available assets, along with key, per-asset metrics such as:

  • Risk Premium (Collateral Risk)

  • Collateral Factor (LTV)

  • Supply APY

  • Borrow APY

  • Supply Cap

  • Borrow Cap

Please note that the Risk Premium is not factored in on the "Create" page for the borrow APY of assets.

However, when you go to create the position, the dashboard will show you a preview of the position's Net APY, which will factor in the collateral asset's Risk Premium.

Once you've opted for a Market, you would need to tick the checkbox for which collateral and which debt asset you'd like to have in your position. If an asset is not suppliable as collateral or borrowable, it will be greyed out. Essentially, the UI is optimized to only show you the options that suit your filters.

When the collateral and debt asset are selected, you'll have the option of clicking "Create":

Once clicked, you'll be taken to a new page where you'll be able to either create a regular borrow position in one transaction, or open a one transaction leveraged position:

On the right-hand side, you'll see a full preview of your position's metrics - with the Net APY including the collateral asset's Risk Premium to ensure you get the most accurate number.

Once the position is opened, you'll be able to view it on the "Manage" dashboard:

In this dashboard, you'll be able to see what Hub your Market is connected to when you click on the dollar amount of your collateral/debt. Metrics that can be found here include:

  • The Net APY

  • Liquidation Price

  • Net Balance

  • Borrow power used

The final part of the dashboard we'll cover are the manual management tools:

  • Boost - This tool is used to increase your exposure to the collateral asset when the safety ratio of your position increases. It does this by borrowing more of the debt asset, swapping it to the collateral asset, and supplying it to your current position.

  • Repay - This tool is used to increase the safety ratio of your position by swapping part of your collateral asset in order to repay part of the debt.

  • Supply - This tool is used to add more collateral to your position in order to increase the safety ratio.

  • Withdraw - This tool is used to withdraw collateral from your position, in turn decreasing your safety ratio

  • Borrow - This tools is used to borrow more of the debt asset from your current position, in turn decreasing your safety ratio.

  • Pay back - This tool is used to pay back part of (or the entirety) of your debt, in turn increasing your safety ratio.

  • Collateral Switch - Allowing you to change your Collateral asset in one transaction

  • Debt Switch - Allowing you to change your Debt asset in one transaction

  • Position Flip - This tool lets you "flip" your position by exchanging the collateral and debt asset - where your collateral becomes debt and debt becomes the collateral. In simple terms, a tool that lets you go from a long position to a short (and vice-versa) in one transaction

Before executing any of these actions, the dashboard will provide you with updated metrics for your position based on the values you've input:

You're now well equipped to efficiently manage your Aave position on DeFi Saver!

We highly recommend reading through our Automation articles to get a better understanding of how you can further improve how your position is managed.

Aave V4 also provides you with the option of lending your assets to one of the available Hubs:

Clicking on the "Lend" tab will show you all the available Hubs:

As with the "Create" page, you're able to simply open the Hub dropdown and view all the available assets. On the other hand, you can also directly filter options by the asset:

Choosing an asset will open up a window on the right-hand side, where you'll be able to input how much you'd like to lend:

You'll be able to view the supplied USDC (and access it) through the Portfolio page - or going back to the "Lend" tab of the Aave V4 dashboard.

One of the main benefits of utilizing DeFi Saver's service is access to our automation options that maintain your position based on your personal inputs. Aave currently supports all of DeFi Saver's automations, meaning that opening a position with it gives you access to a plethora of automations.

From day one - we're offering the full suite of Automations on Aave V4. This includes everything from Automated Leverage Management to Collateral Switch automations.

Initially, Automations are only supported for Smart Wallet positions - but we'll ensure that EOA positions will also have access to these tools shortly.

The Close tool lets you unwind your position and withdraw the remaining collateral to your wallet.

If you decide to close down your current position, the steps are straightforward:

  1. Navigate to the main dashboard:

  1. Select the "Close" button:

  1. Choose how you'd like to close your position.

  2. Since closing from your position involves swaps, you can also (optionally) set the exchange route and slippage limit.

  3. Press "Close Aave"
